5.3 An Emptiness Inside.
I am reaching out in the darkness to find something to touch regarding the 'Body Collective.' This should be the easiest thing to write and think about; The Church. But little comes.
I think of the Zimmerman lyric, “felt an emptiness inside” from Simple Twist of Fate, from Blood on the Tracks. “He told himself that he didn’t care.” It's like you have a broken tool at home, it doesn’t work, so you set it aside and forget about it. It’s like a cassette tape in the basement. It stores all of these sounds but there is nothing to play it on; time out of mind, church as an anachronism.
Who was the Author who wrote the ‘ great American novel’ and left the manuscript on the train seat beside him when he disembarked?
This evokes the Stephen King story, The Body, which became the film Stand By Me, which I know nothing about, other than the plot line. Four boys go searching for a dead body based on a rumour. A rumour is a loud noise or clamour.
So, let me summarize this: darkness, emptiness, brokenness, loss, and rumour.
By implication, and with cheeriness, we are lost in the wilderness and there is blood on the tracks.
